There were so many wonderful experiences during my 8 days in Cuba. The art and the food, the history of the island, and yes, the politics. Like most communist countries I have visited, there’s the government view, and there’s the view of the people often diametrically opposed as politics often does a bad job of placing food on the table.
The government standoff does make life difficult, but people find a way to make life work. I stayed in AirBnBs, I slept on beds from IKEA shipped from Florida, and those ‘57 Chevys are powered by turbo diesels from Mercedes Benz.
